Growing up

So my baby is growing up, she will be 8 in January
and I thought it was time to start learning to
peal potatoes. She was so excited, the only thing she
didn't like was all the pictures I was taking.
They just grow up too too fast :(
She was really good at it just
REALLY SLOW!!
Her excitement was short lived though
I think it will now be a challenge to
get her in the kitchen to peal.

One  of her favorite things to do is watch any kind
of cooking and especially baking shows. Saturday
we watched an amazing cake decorating show
on TLC, only wish I could remember what the
name was so that I could DVR it.

Cute as a....

A cute little cookie for a precious
new Christmas gift.

Thank you so much Mrs. Dennis for your order

Christmas Trees

'Tis the Season.....
I had so much fun making the cute Christmas Trees for my friend Erin at The Vintage Pearl  for her holiday open house.

These are green Christmas trees with light green and cream "Christmas bulbs" and red glitter garland. You can't really tell the colors too well by the pictures but they were so pretty, if I do say so myself :)

Hopefully I will be getting better with my pics soon, Tom and the kids got me a new laptop and photoshop for my birthday. Now maybe I'll learn how to use it soon.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Back in Business

I have received several phone calls lately and just wanted to let everyone know that YES I am back in business and just in time for the Holiday rush. I have been trying for over a week to get back into my blogger account and have had the hardest time ever, LOL seems all that time off made me forget my passwords and I  had misplaced all my important paperwork.

Anyway thank you all for your thoughts and prayers during our very LONG and extended summer. We were out of our home for 5 month and boy were they long months. The good new is that we have all new stuff, granite, sink, stove, dishwasher, washer, dryer, furniture, Crumbled Cookies Office, all the fun cookie/cupcake making stuff and the list goes on and on and on. So I have to say Thank you to Jesus for making everything turn out so much better than before and thank you to my insurance company and agent for making everything go so easy.

Don't forget to place your orders now, my December calender is filling up and I don't want you to miss out.

Unable to Take any Orders For a While

Hi everyone,
Yesterday while getting dog food I received a phone call from my alarm company that they were dispatching the fire department to my home due to the smoke alarms going off!!! I thought there is now way, it must be a malfunction, I had just left not too long ago. I called my husband and we raced home. The house was on fire and the dog was in the house. The kids and I prayed the entire way home while racing through traffic and all the road construction. I called my BFF and asked her to get to the house to get Maggie since she was only about a mile from our house. Anyway after we got there the firemen had put it out already and were trying to secure the home so we could go in. What Happened? Well the dryer malfunctioned and caught the whole laundry room, garage, bedroom and half bathroom on fire. PLEASE DON'T LEAVE YOUR DRYERS ON WHEN YOU ARE NOT HOME!  The home is not livable at all and we will be out for a minimum of 2 months we have been told. All of my cookie and cupcake stuff is stored in the bedroom off the laundry room (its my Crumbled Cookies Office) so it will be a while before anything is up and running again. Did I mention that we are due to go on vacation Friday?
The awesome thing is that what the devil tried to make a bad situation and God turned it around for good. Our dog was fine, we get new wood floors (ours go through almost the entire home) new carpet in the bedrooms from the smoke damage, new paint throughout, clothes laundered and brand new ones too, new insulation in the attic, new ac ducting, basically you name it we are getting it!
I'll try and post pics when I can. But have a fun and safe rest of the summer.
Blessings to you and your families.

Tiffanie

It's been a while.....

It has been quite a while since I have been able to post. First my camera died (wow-I had no idea how much I used it) and then Thankfully I have been very busy with all of your orders. Thank you all so much for you support. Wedding and Baby Shower Season is definitely upon us.

My Little Pilot

brock loves to fly with his daddy

he loves "fixing" it too.

Easter Egg, Bunny and Duck cookies

Such fun to make.
Thanks Kim, hope you and your family enjoyed them.

Cupcake Icing Styles

Recently I was asked about my cupcakes, I really have not had much time to post much about them. I plan on trying to post at least one new item to my blog a week. Anyway I was looking through my camara and found some pics I had taken of different ways I can do the icing and thought I'd add them.
I think my favorite is the white flower with sprinkles in the center. With yellow icing and black sprinkles it would look like a sunflower, perfect for the spring.
I also did some that looked like green grass with Easter eggs over the weekend, but my camera broke and I was not able to take pics before my family ate them up. I'll make more later and put the pics on here.
I have been talking to my son about what type of birthday party he wants, he wants a football and or baseball party. So I think we are going to do cupakes with "green grass" buttercream with footballs and baseballs on them, I can't wait it will be so much fun.

Thank You Kristen

Thank You Kristen and Daiichi Sankyo for your March orders.

The Vintage Pearl

I recently ordered my very first (but definitely not last) necklace from The Vintage Pearl and fell in love. I had the flower and circle one made with Reagan and Brock's name on it. I also ordered the flower for Reagan for Easter. I cannot wait to get something else. She also posted one on her blog that I want next, it is a circle with 2 hearts fused together.
Anyway I wanted to thank her for my beautiful new jewlelry, so what could be better than cookies ;)  I did large and small squares with her logo and her new "nest" design. If you have not already please check out her blog and website.

Thanks again Erin and The Vintage Pearl.

Matilda Jane Cookies

So over the weekend I was invited to my very first Matilda Jane trunk show, and the clothes are so so so cute. My friend asked me to do cookies for her guests that would be coming to the show, so we decided that rose pink and blue with brown writing in addition to doing their signature flower and dots. I think they came out really good, did I ever mention that the are some of the softest sugar cookies you will ever have :)

would have had a better pic of these, but like usual I forgot to take pics until I
was there to deliver these cute cookies.
Thanks again Rachael for the many orders you have placed.
By the way ya'll she makes the cutest stuff for your ones
you'll have to go to her blog.

Chocolate Fudge Cake with Chocolate Ganache

This is one of my very favorite thigs to bake. It is my one of my dads favorites, so for his birthday my mom called and asked me to bake it for him. This takes a ton of time but it is well worth it and everyone will be so impressed. (this is a very dense cake, so if you like fluffy this might not be for you)

Cake:
3/4 C. butter, softened
3 C sugar
3 eggs, room temp.
4 oz unsweetened chocolate, melted
2 t. vanilla
3 C. flour
1/2 t. salt
3/4 C buttermilk
1 1/3 C. boiling water

Chocolate Ganache:
3 C. (18oz) semisweet chocolate chips
1 1/2 C half and half (you can use heavy cream)
2 T. butter cut up
2 t.  vanilla

Preheat oven to 350 and prepare cake pans

in a large bowl., beat together 3/4 cup butter and sugar on med. speed until light anf fluffy. Then add eggs and 2 t. vanilla and beat until well blended. Add melted chocolate and beat 1-2 min.

Mix together flour, baking soda and salt.  Add to chocolate mixture in two additions alternately with buttermilk. Beat until well blended. With mixer on low speed, add boiling water and beat until smooth (batter will be really runny). Pour batter into prepared pans and bake 35-40 min, let cool in pans about 10 min and then unmold onto roacks and let cool completely.

Ganache:
in a microwaveable bowl combine chocolate chips and half and half. heat about 3 min or until melted and smooth when stirred. Stir in 2 T. butter and 2 t vanilla. Cover and refigerate a couple hours (mine usually takes about 3 or more, just keep checking it).

Assemble cake and refrigerate at least 4 hours or until the ganache is firm. This cake is really good cold and even from the freezer.

I found this somewhere online a few years ago and have made a couple of changes to it that I think make it a little better, if I can find the original recipe I have then I will post a link to it.

Enjoy~
wish I had pics of mine to show you how awesome this is, but I guess you'll just have to try it for yourself ;)
